Demon House Film Review

Demon House

From the opening seconds of this film, you can just tell that it's going to be cheese-tastic!! Some of the worst computer animation I've ever seen accompanies the title sequence. However, this turns out to be useful because it was at this point of watching the film that I thought "I recognize that shit animation...". Turns out that not only have I seen this film before, I actually own an ex-rental VHS copy! So... not the most memorable film I've ever seen then!? A bunch of irritating high school kids think they've killed a police officer after accidentally holding up a gas station (did I mention they're also fairly stupid?!) so decide to hide out in an old funeral parlour (have these people ever seen a horror film?). Unfortunately it's inhabited by Angela, freaky demon woman, and soon events take a turn for the worse.

And things could be a lot worse than this film. It's fairly formulaic and it's a bit slow in places but it's rather amusing. And there's boobs aplenty, albeit weirdly tanned ones - plus some minor lesbian action for the lads. The acting's quite shoddy - particularly Angela in human form who at one point gives a gun a peculiar blow-job - and you really want everyone to die, but that's not necessarily a bad thing since at least Angela's methods are fun to watch. Make-up is distinctly in the 'Buffy' school of demonology not surprisingly since the series started out around the same time as this film. Generally, tho, it's a good fun, cheesy piece of nonsense if you're feeling pretty brainless of an evening!
