Ghost Ship
Another Dark Castle goodie (gotta love them, man!), this one involves a salvage crew out to claim the wreckage of the Antonia Grazia which disappeared in May 1962 and has been spotted by a Canadian Air Force pilot in the Bering Sea. On boarding the vessel, however, all is not as it seems as visions of long-dead passengers - in particular a little girl - are noticed and the discovery of a large amount of gold puts the crew in turmoil. Plus the crew are being killed off one after another. Can salvage worker Maureen Epps (Julianna Marguilies post "ER") unlock the secrets of the Antonia Grazia before she succumbs to the same fate as those before her?
This film is a lot of fun to watch. Visually, it's done really well - the opening scene of the Captain's Ball is an absolute classic with most of the ocean liner's passengers being bisected. Also Emily Browning (playing Katie, one of the doomed liner's passengers from 1962) does a great job in her role as 'Guidance Ghost'. Generally the film isn't over-intelligent and doesn't even pretend to be anything it's not. Although it's not as good as some other Dark Castle fare (I love "Thir13en Ghosts"!), what it is tho, is a very watchable movie - I recommend!
