Killer Clowns From Outer Space

Let me begin with this statement: I bloody hate clowns!! Since my Dad first took me to the circus when I was about 3 and I was convinced the clown had a weapon in the feather duster he was using to tickle the faces of the kids in the audience (I started freaking out and had to be removed from the circus - my dad was pissed!!) I've hated bloody clowns! So it was a personal challenge for me to watch this film and... it's fairly disappointing!

Crazed aliens land on earth in their Big Top spaceship and looking remarkably like our concept of clowns. However the town of Crescent Grove is about to be harvested for food by Killer Klowns who count a popcorn gun, killer shadow puppets, and candyfloss as their weapons of choice. This being a horror film of course, the Klown are harvesting humans, cocooning them in candyfloss and sucking out the gelatinous remains with a straw - nice! It's up to a few individuals - and an ice cream van - to save the day...

In short: it's alright. It's worth a look - especially for the interesting weapons the Klowns use in their rampages and the Tyrannosaurus Rex shadow puppet that eats a queue of people waiting for a bus - but it's not great.
