Mum and Dad
Lena, a Polish immigrant working in Heathrow airport, misses her last bus home and mistakenly accepts the offer of help from co-worker Birdie. She finds herself imprisoned by Birdie's adoptive parents in a house where torture and abuse are the norm. Given the title of 'Mummy's Girl', Lena has to face the prospect of either joining Mum & Dad in their murderous ways or becoming one of their victims.
Hmmmm. I really wanted to like this film a lot because it's a recent British horror film based on an original idea but I can't fully embrace the torture porn genre. The acting is pretty good - Mum and Dad in particular are excellent as the twisted heads of the family. It's not too bad really tho, I'm just not really into mutilation for the sake of. Worth a watch tho - any half decent original horror deserves our support in an industry filled with remakes and reimaginings. It's not bad, it has some good moments, it's just not my thing man!
