Night of the Demon

This film is hilarious!! American Psychologist John Holden travels to England to investigate a satanic cult, only to discover upon arrival that the professor he is to meet has just died at the hands of an unknown animal. Holden's investigations lead to the mysterious Dr Julian Karswell and a parchment bearing a curse that will kill the holder within 3 days...

To be honest, I expected nothing from this film - I thought it was likely to be shit but in the interests of Shitty Horror, these things must be investigated! And it's not the best but it is easy to watch. It does boast possibly the most hilarious beast attack I've ever seen in a film ever - Karswell's black cat turns into a panther through the joys of a camera dissolve and some stock footage. Then the fun really begins. You've never experienced really Shitty Horror till you've seen a grown man struggling with what is clearly a toy stuffed panther (yup - the kind you win at the Fairground!) as it 'attacks him'. It's the funniest attack I've seen in ages. Special mention also has to go to the titular Demon who appears at the end of the film - clearly controlled by a man on a bicycle! The special effects budget was not overflowing on this one! Altogether tho, this movie isn't really too bad and it's a great one for watching to while away a dreary Sunday afternoon.
