Quarantine Film Review

Freakin American remakes, man! What the hell is up with that? Read the bloody subtitles!!! What's the big freakin deal? Lazy gits...

Mini-rant over. This one's a remake of "[Rec]", a rather fab Spanish movie I've already reviewed elsewhere on this site. A TV presenter and her cameraman shadow the night shift in an LA fire station for a TV show. The crew are called out to an apartment block where an old woman is behaving erratically. After the woman attacks one of the crew, the building is completely sealed and locked down. And a disease seems to be spreading...

To be fair, this film isn't too bad as remakes go - tho I reckon you'd be as well picking between this and the original because they're incredibly similar save this one turns the outbreak into some kind of recognizable disease. It's decent but even most of the scares are exactly the same as the original. I would say the main reason to watch this is for an extremely powerful scene where the cameraman has to use the camera as a weapon to bludgeon an infected type to death and we get to see the whole thing in grisly detail. An excellent little piece of filmmaking and potentially even worth renting the movie for (depending on how much the rental cost is I guess!). It's alright if you can't be bothered with subtitles but really it can't beat the original!
