A bunch of generally whiny American teenagers take a trip to the backwoods of Ireland to sample some of the local psychedelic mushrooms but things start to go somewhat awry when one of them, Tara, munches down on a Deathcap mushroom and immediately starts having seizures and dark visions of future events. Following a steaming cup of mushroom tea, the teens start getting picked off one by one in the manner of Tara's visions. It all seems to be turning into a pretty bad trip...
And generally it's not the best film ever. Not bad, could've done better methinks. Disposable characters, mediocre acting and one of the worst ever attempts at an Irish accent!! The nasty ghost story that the group's 'Irish' host tells them in an attempt to frighten them over the campfire is a pretty good one but it's not really worked into the plot well enough. I think this film is a really good idea that just doesn't quite live up to its premise. It's kinda disappointing - with a better cast and a tighter script and story, it might have been great instead of just... meh! Could do better but if you're passing it on a TV channel, it's better than watching... um... re-runs of Gladiators?
