The Legend of Hell House
A psychic investigator is hired by an eccentric millionaire to research the Belasco House, the "Mount Everest of Haunted Houses" once owned by one Emeric Belasco, a six foot five "Roaring Giant" known for his perverted ways. He is accompanied by two mediums (one of whom, Fischer (MacDowall), is the sole sane survivor of a previous investigation into the house), and his wife in his attempts to get rid the house of alleged hauntings by the tortured souls of those who died as a result of Belasco's twisted mind.
This ain't too bad really. It's a good fun film, very much in the mould of similar era Hammer. As a result it will appeal to fans of that kind of thing: it's a bit of a brain-dead, throwaway number. That said, it's all in good fun and will while away an afternoon or late evening. Not a bad one really. If you like haunted house films then this may well be a film for you…
