Trees: The Movie

"It's as if God created the devil and gave it... leaves!"
Imagine they remade Jaws and replaced all the shark scenes with tree scenes. And the line "Get out of the water!" becomes "Get out of the forest". Brody, Hooper and Quint become Cody, Cooper and Squint. And some of the dialogue is word for word from Jaws except for the tree references. Basically the plot is: people start getting killed in the woods by a "Great White Pine" so the local ranger, a tree surgeon and a lumberjack go into the woods to kill the beast.

This film is just bloody nuts! It literally is a carbon copy of Jaws but with a killer [plastic Christmas] tree as the villain! It's just bizarre. Oddest moment has to be when Cody, Cooper and Squint break into a rendition of 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm" in a male bonding moment (you may remember that in Jaws they sing "Show me the Way to go Home" - an obvious replacement [press the sarcasm key here!]).

At least everyone appears to be game enough. And the films tongue is superglued securely in its cheek. It's still an oddity tho. I can only think that some guys were inebriated (or otherwise) one night and thought that a homage to Jaws using a plastic Christmas tree as the villain would be hilarious. So one of them wrote it. I would suggest inebriated (or otherwise) would be a good way to watch this one!
