This one is definitely for fans of early Peter Jackson films - it has more than a touch of the "Braindead"s and "Bad Taste"s. A meteor shower over a small town in Austrailia causes the locals to turn into ravenous, bloodthirsty zombies. A small number of survivors, including local beauty queen "Miss Catch of The Day" Rene who was trying to leave town after losing her family farm to debt, hook up with local nutter Marion to fight their way through the zombie hoardes.
This one is just plain good fun. The make up is pretty decent, it's gross and everyone seems to be really game and up for it. Tongue is kept firmly in cheek and although most of the characters are more like caricatures, you don't mind because they really go for it - particularly Marion the Looney and Harrison, the cowardly police officer who claims to be in charge and screams a lot (actually wouldn't be out of place in a Broken Lizard movie like "Super Troopers"). Blood in buckets and comedy gore - that's what I like to see in a movie! My only qualm is that it's a little over long and could be tidied up to make it tighter. Aside from that, it's a good laugh!
