One summer school outsider - and virginal type - Mandy Lane suddenly gets 'hot' (teen film speak: grows boobs!) and is invited to a popular kid's pool party. Her best friend Emmet convinces one of the party to jump from the roof of his house into the pool to get Mandy's attention. However he misses, hits his head on the pool and dies. Nine months later, Mandy is estranged from Emmet and hanging with the popular kids - who all want to 'do' her. They all go to Red's dad's ranch for a weekend of drugs and general debauchery but as the revelries go on, the number of attendees starts to fall after a hooded figure is seen...
This is a teen slasher movie. It's one of the better ones in recent times but it is still a teen slasher flack - annoying kids you want to see killed, power outage, isolated location etc. Better written than most tho despite the cliched parts, the end is unexpected and I can see why it hasn't had a release in America yet. Worth a look - the most off-putting part was the fact that my 2 year old had gotten hold of my copy (not to watch, I hasten to add) and had covered it in jam which kept making it skip till I noticed!
