The Haunted House of Horror (1969) Movie Spoiler
The killer is Richard. He’s got a paralyzing fear of the dark after he was locked in a basement for 3 days when he was 6 and this has made him go psycho against people who he thinks are going to trap him in the dark. After stabbing Gary, he kills Kellet (who’s gone back to retrieve Sylvia’s lighter). The group go back to the house to recreate the night but Dorothy gets all hysterical and some of them take her home, leaving Richard, Chris and Sheila. Richard stabs Chris and chases Sheila round the house but cloud covers the moon and his fear stops him from stabbing her. The police show up (they’ve figured out what’s going on after speaking to Sylvia) and Richard runs off sobbing into the night.
